GLOSSARY

Attunement ² The Initiation Procedure that aligns your body to the flow of Reiki Frequency Energy.

Session ² The Laying-On of Reiki Hands to assist a Human, Plant, or Animal in need.

Lineage ² Reiki ability is passed from Teacher to student by the ritual attunement, creating a line of transmission.

Healing ² Movement toward the True Self, which is free from pain, disease, fear and sorrow.

Reiki Master ² someone who has mastered the attunement ritual and can transmit the lineage to another.   

Practicing Reiki does not use your personal energy store, as it is a system that allows you to channel Healing Energy from a Higher Dimension.

It is unexpected, because I am basically a skeptical person, and not generally enthusiastic about 'alternative' medical procedures. But I cannot deny the remarkable positive result in what happened to me, thanks to Uma.
 
Here's what happened. After suffering terrible pains, I went to the emergency room in Berkeley where the X-ray discovered two large (ping pong ball-sized) kidney stones, and I was urgently advised to see a urologist.

Following a second attack a week later, I saw the urologist, who recommended I try a dietary approach for a while, but that I would almost certainly be facing the painful and very expensive technique of trying to shatter the stones with a lithotripter machine. He said I should get a "reference sonogram" so that the effect if any, of the dietary approach could safely be monitored.

When I went in for the sonogram two weeks later, there was no evidence whatsoever of kidney stones. None. The urologist said this was impossible. He was certain that a mistake had been made, so a second sonogram was done. Same result. Again, he said this was impossible, and that the original X-rays must have been wrong, but this was demonstrably not so.

During this time period, starting with the original diagnosis, my wife Marina, who had been trained in Reiki by Uma, was giving me "secret" Reiki treatments at night, after I had fallen asleep. I did not know she was doing this. But she did it every night and, undeniably, the kidney stones were gone in a matter of weeks. I can think of no logical explanation other than that the Reiki treatments had done this.

This happened nineteen years ago, and there has been no reoccurrence. I shall always be tremendously grateful to Uma's skills as a Reiki master, and her ability to teach these techniques to others.
